Who we are
First and foremost, Andrew is the lucky husband to his wife, Broadway and TV veteran Kate Reinders (Wicked, Something Rotten, HSMTMTS’s Miss Jenn), and father to their son, Luke (fan of Star Wars, Captain Underpants, and dad singing more quietly).
Currently based in Salt Lake City, Andrew is a professor in the University of Utah’s Musical Theatre Program. He has made supporting the next generation of great artists and performers his primary focus. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSUN where he studied vocal pedagogy, music theory, and performed leads in several operas. He has taught masterclasses across the country including UC, Irvine where he received his MFA in Acting. He then studied under NYC’s iconic teacher Craig Carnelia and has collaborated with six Tony winning directors.
Andrew’s Broadway credits started in the Tony winning production of South Pacific as a Seabee and then Lt. Cable, playing opposite Kelli O’Hara and Tony winner Paulo Szot, where he can be seen on the Live from Lincoln Center PBS broadcast. He went on to star on Broadway in Scandalous, opposite Carolee Carmelo; The Mystery of Edwin Drood, opposite Chita Rivera, Stephanie J. Block, and Jessie Mueller; and Lempicka, opposite Eden Espinosa.
His first national touring credits include The Bridges of Madison County, Come From Away, Parade, and Disney’s On the Record. He earned a Drama Desk nomination for his portrayal of Frank Russell in the Off-Broadway run of Queen of the Mist. He was featured in NY City Center’s Encores! productions of Merrily We Roll Along and Fiorello!. Notably, he can be heard as Captain Phoebus in the American Premiere Studio Recording of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Other recordings include the original cast recordings of Lempicka, Scandalous, Queen of the Mist, Disney’s On the Record, as well as a solo album, 2AM at the Sands.
Regionally, his theater work has crossed the country including Williamstown Theater Festival, American Conservatory Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Papermill Playhouse, The Old Globe, Portland Center Stage, The Ford’s Theater, The MUNY, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and Musical Theatre Wichita.
He has been a soloist with NY Philharmonic and The Boston Pops and seen on TV in Elementary and Madam Secretary.
